In collaboration with ViGör and the municipality of Botkyrka
As part of our larger project, "ViGör Riksten Levande" ("We Make Riksten Alive"), we kicked off with a fun and inclusive event designed to bring our community together.
Our goal was to create a vibrant, engaged, and safe environment for everyone. 🕺💃 The Soca dance afternoon at Ebba Dance Club was a fantastic success, with various workshops for all ages!
Our first participants were seniors
Participants experienced the energetic Caribbean rhythms of Soca dance, fostering cultural diversity, physical activity, and creativity. We danced to different Soca steps and music tailored to each age group.
Our second participants were the teens and we raised the bar and brought the best
With the kids, we played fun games like Broken Telephone, where they learned facts about Soca, and Hot Potatoes, which had them going crazy with the dance moves!
we played the broken telephone with Soca facts with the kids between 4 and 11 years old
we played and danced with the kids between 4 and 6 years old
We ended the day with soca for adults
Harold worked as the dance facilitator, and I assisted him and the participants through each session, ensuring everyone could join in and enjoy.

This whole afternoon in Tullinge helped break patterns of insecurity and isolation by bringing people together to dance, connect, and create a vibrant community.
We would like to thank, firstly, #botkyrkakommun for supporting the idea, #ViGör for all the assistance behind the scenes before, during, and after the workshops, and of course, the dance enthusiasts who joined us and explored Soca. And finally, Thank you to everyone who joined us and made this event special! ✨
